Wonderful Wednesdays

The Reading Tweetup is an informal gathering of wonderful tweeters in the Reading area, who meet to network, make friends and sink a few drinks. The event has grown over its history, which spans the last two years, to a size that can typically vary between 10 and 30 attendees. The first Tweetup I attended (forgive me if I become a little nostalgic here) was almost one and a half years ago and at that event I made firm friends with a great many people.

I genuinely think that nearly all the friends I made that evening still attend the Tweetups if they can. A sure sign that something must be enjoyable about them! Through its history the event has been held at four different locations and while each had its benefits, the likely future location for Reading Tweetups is Glo, a relaxed cocktail bar in St. Mary's Butts, Reading.

Along with superb cocktails and a wide variety of imported beers, Glo also features some of the finest Asian inspired food imaginable. While food isn't the primary purpose of Reading Tweetups, many attendees choose to dine after their working day, perfectly filling the time until the event itself. The Tweetups are fairly informal, usually starting around 7.00-8.00 P.M., every other Wednesday. To make sure you never miss a beat, you can bookmark the website, or just keep an eye out for the #rdgtweetup hash-tag on twitter.

So I hope that I've gone some way to convincing you that the Reading Tweetup is well worth a visit. The event doesn't cost anything to attend and there's every possibility you could make some excellent new friends. The next Tweetup, at the time of writing, is on the 24th of November. I certainly intend to be there and hopefully you'll be there too.
